We are working in partnership with a well-established client seeking an experienced Refrigeration Engineer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer with strong mechanical expertise to play a key role in maintaining, repairing, and installing refrigeration systems across a range of equipment.

Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all refrigeration systems operate efficiently and effectively, carrying out regular maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and providing technical support on installations and upgrades. This position requires hands-on experience with various units, including air conditioning systems, walk-in chillers, and freezers, as well as the ability to interpret technical schematics.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on refrigeration systems, including defrosting cabinets, upright chillers, freezers, walk-in chillers and freezers, cold cabinets, and air conditioning units.

• Perform regular maintenance on seals, evaporators, and condensers.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot faults promptly to minimise downtime.

• Read and interpret technical schematics and system layouts.

• Work collaboratively with construction teams to install new refrigeration systems as required.

• Lead installation or upgrade projects, providing direction to junior staff where needed.

• Maintain detailed and accurate records of all maintenance and repair work.

• Ensure all activities comply with current health and safety standards.

Requirements

• Proven mechanical knowledge, particularly in refrigeration and air conditioning systems.

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the maintenance and repair of refrigeration systems.

• Ability to read and interpret schematics accurately.

• Strong leadership and project management abilities.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
