The Role
As Corporate Tax Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality compliance and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of corporate clients. You will work closely with partners and senior leadership, providing technical insight, supporting complex projects, and developing junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Review corporate tax returns, identifying technical risks and planning opportunities.
- Support the delivery of tax planning and advisory projects, including due diligence and consultancy assignments.
- Assist partners on corporate and OMB tax projects, resolving complex and varied issues.
- Identify advisory opportunities arising from corporate compliance work.
- Provide direction and mentoring to junior staff across compliance and consultancy activities.
- Draft high-quality technical content such as factsheets, articles, and client briefings.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and colleagues across departments.
- Offer tax guidance to audit and accountancy teams as a recognised subject matter expert.
- Contribute to internal and external presentations, training sessions, and seminars.
- Participate in marketing and business development initiatives, including tendering and content creation.
- Stay up to date with UK tax legislation and broader accountancy developments.
- Manage WIP and ensure efficient control over allocated projects.
About You
- CTA qualification (or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Strong technical expertise in corporate and business taxation, with awareness of key issues affecting private clients.
- Commercially astute with a strong client service ethos.
- Experience with property and international tax issues is advantageous.
- Confident in using MS Office and other relevant tax/accounting software.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities with proven planning capability.
- Able to work accurately under pressure and deliver results to tight deadlines.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and adept at applying knowledge to new and challenging scenarios.
- A personable, professional approach with genuine enthusiasm for client engagement and value creation.
