Overview
We are partnering with a respectable care home to appoint an experienced Bookkeeper with strong proficiency in SAGE Line 50 bookkeeping and SAGE Payroll. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day financial transactions, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with payroll and reporting requirements. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate financial records using SAGE Line 50
Process invoices, payments, receipts, and bank reconciliations
Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with HMRC requirements
Manage and process payroll through SAGE Payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current legislation
Handle pension contributions and other statutory deductions
Support month-end and year-end financial processes
Produce reports for management to support decision-making
Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and HMRC as required
Skills and Qualifications
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper with strong knowledge of SAGE Line 50 and SAGE Payroll
Solid understanding of payroll legislation and compliance
AAT qualification or equivalent (desirable but not essential)
Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent organisational and time-management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality at all times
Desirable Attributes
Experience within a care home or similar healthcare setting
Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise across departments and with external stakeholders
Proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement
