Overview:
A well-regarded accountancy practice is seeking a qualified Audit and Accounts Senior to join their professional and supportive team. This position offers the opportunity to manage a diverse client portfolio, taking ownership of audit assignments and statutory accounts preparation, while providing high-quality service and expert technical support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, lead, and complete audit assignments for a broad range of clients across various sectors
- Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders in accordance with UK GAAP
- Review work prepared by junior team members, offering guidance and feedback
- Liaise directly with clients, providing a high standard of service and resolving queries efficiently
- Work closely with partners and managers to ensure deadlines are met and client expectations are exceeded
- Assist in the development and training of junior staff
- Stay updated on relevant accounting, audit, and tax legislation to ensure compliance and best practice
Skills and Qualifications:
- ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
- Experience working within an accountancy practice (minimum 3 years preferred)
- Strong audit background with solid accounts preparation experience
- Good knowledge of UK GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Proficient in using audit and accounting software such as CaseWare, Iris, or CCH
- Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
